Who we are looking for:
We are seeking Ygam Ambassadors to join our University & Student Engagement Team on a voluntary basis until December 2024. We’d love to hear from students with an interest in mental health, psychology, content development and gaming.

We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling. The role is open to up to 8 UK university students.

Main Role & Responsibilities
You will join our advisory panel and help Ygam achieve its mission of safeguarding our digital generation from gaming and gambling harms by reaching out to students at your university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam about the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and joining us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms. 
 

Role Requirements
Duties will include but not be limited to:

·         Attend meetings with other members of the student advisory board up to 4 times per year to discuss key issues within the gaming and gambling industries ensuring that the voice of students and young people is heard. 
·         Advise Ygam on key areas where the student voice is being lost or where students are not being protected from harm to inform further development of the charity.
·         Provide insight and understanding from a student perspective to help inform Ygam’s work and ensure it remains relevant and impactful.
·         Support with content development (e.g. blogs, Ygam Student Hub, social media) 
·         Organise events/activities on campus
·         Uphold the Ygam values and social purpose when talking to external organisations or individuals.
 
 

Person Specification 
·         Post holders should be current UK university students.
·         You will have a drive and passion to make a difference.
·         You will be committed to social change.
·         You will be able to commit time voluntarily to support the mission of the programme. 
·         You will have excellent organisation skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
·         Prior experience of being on an advisory board is not necessary, more important is your excitement for the role and desire to learn. 
·         Experience of gambling and/or gaming related-harms is not a pre-requisite, but we encourage those who have to apply.
·         An interest in gaining experience within the charity sector
