At Letchworth Heritage Foundation we have a vision to make Letchworth, the world’s first Garden City, a great place for everyone to live, work and visit.
We are seeking a Volunteering Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Foundations growing Volunteer network, playing a pivotal role in raising the profile of the Foundation by acting as an ambassador for the organisation and enabling us to be more impactful in the community we serve.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Volunteering Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Volunteering Programme including developing and leading the Volunteering Strategy in line with wider organisational goals, managing the volunteering budget, along with recruitment, induction, training, support and volunteer engagement and retention.
The Volunteering Manager will work closely with all our internal stakeholders and external volunteer networks to build strong relationships and ensure best practice, acting as the first point of reference on volunteering process and policy across the organisation.

Experience
- Previous experience of managing a diverse group of people with a collaborative style
- Proven project management skills including planning, risk management, setting and meeting clear objectives and working with colleagues to achieve outcomes
- Experience of working within a community focused organisation
- Experience of leading a volunteer programme or team of volunteers
- Experience of developing and delivering a volunteer strategy
- Experience of recruiting and retaining a volunteer team
