Job Title: US Policy Manager

The Role
We are looking to expand our Policy Team and are looking for the addition of a passionate, committed, and proactive Policy Manager.
Job Overview
- This role combines strategic insight, creativity, and policy expertise with the organizational skills to manage various projects, initiatives, and relationships across key stakeholders and regulatory bodies where CCDH is active.
- The role will advocate for CCDH, facilitate initiatives across relevant sectors and stakeholders, and bring external perspectives back to the team to inform perception and direction.
- The role will work with the executive team to grow, deliver, and oversee initiatives to create policies that fulfill CCDH’s strategic vision and execution against the mission statement.
- The role will assist the Head of Policy in representing CCDH externally and contribute to subject-matter expertise on online hate, misinformation,and technology policy issues. This includes working with national and regional governing bodies, industry leaders, academia, NGOs, and other key private and public sector stakeholders.

CCDH has been at the forefront of unmasking how online platforms and search engines drive radicalization, online harm, and misinformation. We seek a policy and partnerships manager to build bipartisan support for tech reform by creating coalitions that increase pressure for change and directly engaging with policymakers. If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you.
Person Specification
Essential
- The ability to build bipartisan support for tech reform by creating coalitions that increase pressure for change and by directly engaging with policymakers
- A positive and confident attitude and respect when interacting with external partners, organizations, and co-workers.
- Creativity: Approaching problems with an open mind, seizing opportunities, feeling empowered, using initiative, and demonstrating a positive mental attitude when challenged
- Develop policies that fulfill CCDH’s mission to develop and execute a legislative advocacy strategy across critical global regulatory environments, with a primary focus in US markets and core constituencies.
- Advocate for CCDH and bring external perspectives back into the organization to inform the direction
- Ensure the political stakeholder outreach and engagement strategy are focused on the most relevant and impactful partners who adhere to CCDH priorities
- Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with key elected officials, policymakers, and legislators primarily in the the U.S, with some global work as well. Experience in researching, writing, and/or contributing to policy documents, such as aide memoirs, briefings, policy papers, literature reviews, written testimony or speaking notes, official letters, and briefing notes
- Excellent relationship-building (and maintaining) skills
- Proficient in all areas of communication channels e.g., Gmail, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Creates an efficient and welcoming work environment that fosters the sharing of ideas and knowledge to achieve business outcomes
- Actively seeks ways to improve processes, productivity, and profitability
- Holds self-accountable for high-quality, timely, compliant, and cost-effective results

- Good organizational skills, such as maintaining databases
- Ability to clearly communicate findings, timelines and obstacles with your team
- Knowledge of how laws are made, government and/or campaigns
Desirable
- Knowledge of the current debates on social media reform, online harms, disinformation, discrimination, and online hate policy
- 3+ years experience in working on public policy, public affairs, or advocacy. Hill experience preferred.Experience in writing content for websites and social media, e.g. blogs
- Experience interpreting and using data when discussing policy
- Event management and assisting with external events
- Knowledge of the economics of social media platforms
- Experience working in government, on the Hill, or civil society/NGO sector
- Experience in using project management tools such as Asana.
- You have held people management responsibilities.
Further information
No direct reports or budget responsibilities, unless directed. This is a remote position but will be based in Washington, D.C. . Occasional travel will be required for meetings and events.

Compensation Package
- $70,000 - $80,000 USD Per annum
- 20 days’ holiday plus US public bank holidays
