The role of Research and Content Officer is instrumental in ensuring that we can do this and that we and our services are information and research led. This role will lead in the sourcing, summarising and dissemination of appropriate research to our members, staff and people we support. This will include the development, fact checking and writing of website content for Change Mental Health and Mental Health and Money Advice (working with Mental Health UK) as well as the development of newsletter content and potentially other unique communications channels.  

As well as an external responsibility this role will also have an internal responsibility to work alongside our National Training Manager and Head of Quality and Improvement to help ensure that our training and development is leading edge. You will develop our knowledge centre, making sure that our knowledge and understanding is up to date and is accurately provided to staff in an accessible and informative manner.  
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
  • Sourcing up to date research and disseminating it in an informative, easy to accessible manner 
  • Manage, update and develop the copy of our information and resources on our website to a high professional standard 
  • Work with the Advice and Support Team and MHUK Digital Manager to manage, update and develop the Scottish relevant copy of the Mental Health and Money Advice Website to a high professional standard 
  • Use existing and develop new communications channels, alongside the Head of Communications, to disseminate information, news and advice (where appropriate) on developments in the mental health/mental illness fields 
  • Develop new information and advice resources for Change Mental Health 
  • Work with the communications team to ensure all communications are high quality and information informed. 
  • Working with the National Training Manager and Head of Quality and Improvement to ensure that our internal and external training is best practice and that our services are evidence informed. 
  • Create and curate our knowledge centre, managing our knowledge, developing and disseminating it as necessary to ensure a knowledge and information rich organisation 
  • Work closely with the Head of Mental Health and Money Advice and the Advice and Support Manager to achieve strategic and operational outcomes 
  • Research changes to benefit legislation, updating the content of the appropriate website to reflect those changes 
 
Essential Criteria: 
  
  • I have relevant qualifications or equivalent experience and skills 
  • Able to communicate effectively, manage teams and expectations 
  • Able to work autonomously as a self-starter and work as part of a wider team 
  • Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of engaging in or working with research 
  • Be able to demonstrate communications experience/expertise  
  • An excellent writer 
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrable experience of managing multiple stakeholders to achieve agreed shared objectives 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and able to work to deadlines 
  • Personable, engaging and outward looking 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data and research in an engaging manner
