Chief Executive Officer
Salary £ 75,000
Vacancy listed 28/07/2022
Application deadline 21/08/2022
Details
This is a unique opportunity to join a young charity, with a growing profile, at a time of significant growth.

The Bike Project provides an innovative solution to one of the most pressing problems facing asylum seekers and refugees on arrival to the UK: access to transport when living on a limited income, which for asylum seekers is as little as £5.66 per day.

Our mission is simple: each year we match refugees and asylum seekers with the many thousands of bikes that go abandoned or unloved around the country. We then go on to support these new bike owners to realise the emotional, practical and physical benefits of cycling.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Strategy and Vision
• Governance and Compliance
• Fundraising and Representation
• Organisational Performance
• People Leadership and Management

The successful candidate will have an excellent record of communication, inspirational leadership and people management and will be passionate about The Bike Project’s purpose, mission and ambitions. An understanding of the charity sector will be an advantage, although this could also have been gained through trustee or voluntary work.

Full details of key responsibilities, job requirements and the recruitment process can be found in the CEO Job Pack attachment below.

Thank you for your interest in The Bike Project and best of luck with your application.

Best wishes,

Doug Krikler
Chair of Trustees
Notes

* There is no requirement to work from the office but the CEO’s role involves attending regular face to face activities and site visits around London. These vary in frequency but can be several times per week.
