Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of the veterans and Armed Forces community? Are you a confident, self-starter with welfare experience? We are looking for someone with strong people skills to join DMWS to work with the Veterans and Armed Forces carers within Weymouth and the wider Dorset community on a 1 year fixed-term contract with the possibility of an extension. We are looking for someone with great interpersonal skills, compassion and the ability to handle complex cases. As part of this role, you will be focused on supporting carers within the veterans and armed forces community. The responsibilities will be the welfare and effective management of referrals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Attending multi-disciplinary meetings and carrying out joint, and lone visits to patients, and liaising with other agencies and carers within the armed forces community to ensure the best outcome for patients and families. You will be required to correctly assess the welfare needs of service users with unfaltering professionalism and sensitivity. You will need to be able to provide a rapid, solution-driven personal response to support in times of need, or in crisis situations.
