Vacancy at Cambridge United FC
Cambridge United Community Trust is the official charity of Cambridge United Football Club.
We are seeking a collaborative, caring and transformative individual to be part of the senior leadership team at the Community Trust and oversee our Education & Skills strand of work, one of our four strategic areas.
Our strategic focuses in this area are:
1) To improve engagement, confidence and attainment in primary schools.
2) To provide opportunities for people to develop new skills for employment.
Alongside this, Staff Development is at the core of the Foundations of our work and we see developing and maintaining a Workforce Development programme across the entire Community Trust staff team as a major part of this role.
Within our Education & Skills programmes, we seek to improve engagement, confidence and attainment in primary schools. We know there is significant educational inequality within our region and we want all within our community to have increased aspirations. We also know how sport can act as a vehicle to develop social values as well as tangibly increase attainment in key subjects. We are seeking someone who can manage our staff leading these programmes to make even more change within our community.
We also seek to develop our work providing opportunities for people to build and develop new skills. This role will support our Skills Co-ordinator to develop the creation of a thriving employability programme to improve employment outcomes across the local community. With a particular focus on 16-24 year-olds and those with disabilities, the successful applicant will be expected to create sustainable funding streams for us to manage this work.
We provide a high-quality education programme to thousands of children, young people and adults from across the region each week and over 50 schools have engaged in the programme in a variety of ways across the last year. This management role provides a highly motivated and dynamic individual the opportunity to support 3 direct reports: School Sport Co-ordinator, Cross-Curricular Co-ordinator & Skills Co-ordinator. This position is a key appointment in our organisation, and the successful applicant will be also expected to ensure the Education & Skills team (currently 11-strong) is fully embedded within the wider organisation.
