Vacancy at Carers in Bedfordshire
CARERS IN BEDFORDSHIRE:
Carers in Bedfordshire is a registered charity that is governed by carers, for carers. Its work is to ensure unpaid carers care while maintaining their health and wellbeing, and are properly valued and supported by the government and the community. Founded in 2004, Carers in Bedfordshire has experienced a meteoric rise from a peer support group to an organisation that supports over 8,000 unpaid carers across Bedfordshire. Our dedicated staff team and army of volunteers are key to our success but with an estimated 40,000 unpaid carers in Bedfordshire the need to grow remains ever present.
THE ROLE:
This role involves reaching out, listening to and coaching unpaid carers who are caring for a family member or friend who have concerns about their memory or a diagnosis of a dementia.
Through coaching and enabling, the relevant support and information can be given, so the carers are better equipped to continue with their caring role.
This is the job for you if you seek the satisfaction of improving the lives of others.

• Signpost and provide information to people living with dementia or memory loss and carers so they can access statutory, public and other voluntary services within Bedfordshire as appropriate to their needs.
• Act as a memory navigator across Bedfordshire, helping people to navigate and access appropriate services, ensuring that they are able to make contact with the right person for help
• Stay up to date on local services available for people living with dementia and their carers, including attending relevant meetings, visiting services, liaising with Tibbs Dementia Foundation staff and volunteers, etc.
