Bikeability Industry Business Manager fixed term to 31st March 2022
Home based, 5 days a week, up to £45k per annum
This is an exciting temporary opportunity to support the development of Bikeability, the Government’s national cycle training programme in a new role focussed on helping the Bikeability Industry to stabilise from COVID, and take steps to scale up to meet the ambition to reach every child by 2024.
You will work with the Bikeability Industry, comprised of over 300 Training Providers of varying sizes, who employ around 3000 Bikeability Instructors.
You will have excellent experience of providing support and mentoring to businesses. An established leader with honed business advisory experience, you will have used these abilities to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders. You have a collaborative approach and enjoy working as part of a team.
The Bikeability Trust
Underpinned by the National Standard for Cycle Training, Bikeability was launched in England in 2007 and is backed by funding from the Department for Transport from 2016-2022. The Trust maintains the National Standard for Cycle Training, manages, monitors and quality assures the delivery of the Bikeability programme across England, promotes the effectiveness of Bikeability, distributes Bikeability award materials, and registers local Bikeability schemes and instructors.

Job Description – Bikeability Industry Business Manager
Location: Home Based, with occasional travel with COVID permits
Reports to: Executive Director
Staff responsibilities: None
Hours of work: 37 hours, 5 days a week
Salary range: £45,000 per annum
The Bikeability Indsutry Business Manager is responsible for developing and delivering a programme of business support to the Bikeability Industry. This will include self-help resources, signposting to sources of support aswell as analysis of Industry’s needs and ability to meet the scale up challenge by 2024.
Responsibilities:
• Gather, analyse and interpret information from Training providers on their support needs and ability to scale up to ensure full coverage and consistency of training across England
• Work with teams across Bikeability Trust to enhance the level of central support offered to Bikeability providers
• Review information from External Quality Assurance (EQA) reports on Training Providers to identify areas of support and mentoring. Work with the EQA panel to develop the support and mentoring offer
• Develop Bikeability Trust tools and resources to support Industry to scale up including webinars, sources of existing support, new marketing materials and reporting tools
• Develop with the communications team the Provider areas of the Bikeability website
• Engage with the Bikeability Regional Networks to offer mentoring, information and stakeholder engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations requirements across all areas of work
• Deliver contribution to Bikeability Trust performance management dashboard providing regular reporting to Board
• Take on any other piece of project work as required to support the Bikeability Trust
Personal Specification:
• Proven experience as business manager or relevant role
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Thorough understanding of diverse business processes and strategy development
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems
• Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
• Degree in Business Management or relevant field
• Entrepreneurial experience
• Demonstrable analytical thinking & business insight.
• Active Interest in Cycling
