The Huntington's Disease Association is the only charity in England and Wales dedicated solely to supporting people affected by Huntington's disease. Through our services, information and support, we help individuals and families feel informed, connected and supported.

Volunteers are at the heart of this work.

Through our Branches, Support Groups, HD Voice and other volunteering opportunities, volunteers provide peer support, reduce isolation, raise awareness, influence research and help ensure the voices of people affected by Huntington's disease are heard.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will be the main point of contact for our volunteer-led Branches, Support Groups and HD Voice (our Expert by Experience group). You will support volunteers to thrive in their roles by coordinating recruitment, onboarding, training, communications and ongoing support, while helping ensure that key governance and administrative requirements are met.

You will also play a key role in maintaining and developing our volunteering infrastructure, including implementing our new volunteer database, maintaining volunteer records and helping volunteers access the information, resources and support they need.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of supporting, coordinating or managing volunteers.
  • Is an excellent communicator and relationship builder.
  • Is organised and confident managing multiple priorities.
  • Is comfortable using databases and digital systems.
  • Shares our commitment to improving the lives of people affected by Huntington's disease.
The role requires regular evening and weekend working, as many volunteer activities take place outside normal office hours. Travel across England and Wales will also be required.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of volunteering at the Huntington's Disease Association and support the volunteers who make such a difference to our community.
